How awful. He's in our prayers too.
Nasty heat all around. Hope he'll be okay.
Interesting little vignette here at da waterin' hole...
One of the backup bartenders here is an Egyptian, from Cairo, and muslim. [muslim bartender? wassupwitdat?] His name is Yassir. I have in the past given him no end of sh!7 about that name.
Tonight got into an interesting convo about the bombing in Sharm El Sheik (Cairo). One of his very good friends was seriously injured in the bombing and is still hospitalised. He has some very unkind things to say about the bombers...
A curious and interesting convo to say the least...
Hey there... :-)
That is interesting... And I'd have to hope most ME muslims are tired of things blowing up and people getting killed.
*waves*
Long day.
What is obvious to him was that the hotel that was hit was intended to kill Egyptian muslims, moreso than foreign tourists. The hotels on that day were pretty much empty of tourists, most of them being off on various tours around the wider area than being right there at the hotel at the time. Anybody would have known that, he says.
I don't think he's saying that it would have been OK if only tourists were targeted, but more that it is instructive that the bombers seemed to be targeting the locals rather than the tourists.
Buenos dias... [sp?}
Buenas noche, actually. :-D
But for you, it's still "buenas tarde".
Ack... found out today that our favorite contender for our new accounting system doesn't know s#!7 from shinola about doing ACH file creation and transfers. Swell. Just Swell.
I would imagine that you've dealt with ACH files before, once or twice.
I'm a "tard"???
Well... I suppose that may be true... :-P
wait... is it "buenas" and not "buenos"??
I just knew that taking my two years of foreign language in French was a mistake. Spanish would have been far more useful.
We are not alone...
A LARGE TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED ABOUT 1250 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE
WINDWARD ISLANDS IS PRODUCING A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS. SOME SLOW ORGANIZATION OF THIS SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE
OVER THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS AS IT MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 15 MPH.
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY HAS INCREASED THIS AFTERNOON IN ASSOCIATION
WITH ANOTHER TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED A FEW HUNDRED MILES SOUTHWEST OF
THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. SLOW ORGANIZATION OF THIS SYSTEM IS ALSO
POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15
MPH.
Tropical "Wave"...??? What the heck is that?
hehehe...
Oh, just a few...
Zdrosvitie!!!
When a hurricane says hello?
You're not a "tard".
Nor are you a "turd". :-P
And I always say "buenas", but it may not be proper. I learned at home, so my ability to speak Spanish is far better than my ability to read or write it.
