Hello, i was told you were giving knives to troops being deployed. I really like your knives and would be very appreciative.Rick, I'll be sending some more Paypal tomorrow. I'm also expecting the quarterly Amazon dividend within the next week or so, which I will also send to you.
I heard a rumor your company is giving away knives to military members. If this is true, I am very interested.
My son is in Iraq, my brother is in Iraq, and I will be deploying to Afghanistan in October with the aviation unit in Idaho.
If it is possible, I would like to arrange to send a knife also to my son and brother.
So, I was preparing for a mission like any other day and one of my platoon-mates happen to be sporting a new toy. I asked what type of knife it was and he said with a big smile on his face, "the Becker companion." He went on to tell me the story of The Hobbit Hole and all the great work you folks are doing for us troops. Well, I hope I'm not too late to be privileged and receive a gift or two from The Hobbit Hole. I am a recent converted fan of the knife as weapon and companion since my deployment to Iraq. Being in an Infantry Unit, you see a lot of knives used and broken because of use. We believe in knives in 1st Platoon and to be apart of what The Hobbit Hole is doing is a privilege.
I'm specifically interested in the Becker BK2 "companion" and the Camillus 904S. If they are not available I'm happy with anything you can send. I'm going to give you my home address because they maybe closing the mail for us here soon but I'm not sure. Better safe than sorry is my motto. Thanks for the support once again.
Ooops, forgot to ping everyone to the knife emails in the previous post.
Not with leather seats...
Finally back in da waterin' hole. Having some issues with the Wayport people... but things seem to be stabilizing now.
Not with leather seats...
It's been my experience that leather seats are quite a bit better in hot weather than, say... vinyl. Leather cools to the touch pretty fast.
When I was growing up we had a Volkswagen van with black vinyl seats... in Arizona, mind you. Them things could seriesly burn you if you weren't careful.
Yah... We did too. Yellow bug with black vinyl seats. Also useful as an oven under some conditions.
Yeeeouch.
It's almost 10:00 here and the temp is still at 90.
It's almost 7pm here... and a nice 70 or so. But my BAC is only about .05, but I'm working on it.
93 here.
The front is starting to show up on the local radar. Is Gypsygirl ready?
We're supposed to hit triple digits tomorrow.
Evening ALL - we're back from the summer version of Gypsygirl's walk, up to the park, once around the swimming pool, and return. She still manages to mark her territory appropriately and stare at, but not chase, the bunnies and/or bushytailedtreerats which are present in her domain. She usually is ready to return, that fur coat must be warmish.
Yee ow. That's too hot.
Evening, master Bowman...
Evening Ramius, glad to see that you are back, enjoying a suitable beverage. Cheers.
Tagline change...
Whoa, triple digits, "it burns us, yellow-face does".
Bear, although we didn't spend that long in TX, I think "fall is coming" may be a tad premature. :-)
I'm over readin' the thread about the accident at the Scout Jamboree today. Says four leaders were electrocuted. One of the posters tho said he/she has talked with someone there and that it was actually scouts who were killed.
Apparently putting up a tent and the poll hit an electrical wire. Sad story.
Thank you sir... I'm pretty much back in the saddle. Still excavating deskpaper at the office to recover lost time. I should be through the paper layers and actually be able to find my desk by tomorrow. :-)
LoL, I like the 100 plus emails that stack up when one returns. sigh. Where is delete all key when you need it?
btw, I've actually not seen my entire work surface in cubicle since the day I moved in...:-)
