I really don't think you have anything to worry about.
Paypal ~is~ by credit card.
Heh...I've never done this before.
Vey stressful!
Or bank transfer. I didn't accept any credit cards when I was doing troop support.
Well, I really think how we transferred money to you was through our debit card but I don't remember.
I remember some people tried and I asked them if there was another way because I didn't have the upgraded account and they sent it another way.
I can't remember if it was you or not.
The fee, if I upgrade to the Premiere account is 2.9% + $0.30 USD. What would that be for say, $10.50?
(I'm awful at math as many know.)
11.9025
So I'm all stressed over 42 cents?
You know, I bet your math improves while you're teaching the Jedi...
I just sort of "see" arithmatic, so I don't know if this really helps or not, but percents are easy. Just move the decimal point to the left two places and then multiply... for your $10.50, one percent is .105 dollars, which is 1.05 cents, then multiply by three (always round off to the nearest number, it's close enough for ballpark numbers) and you get about three cents.
That probably doesn't make any sense... but I always calculate the tip for friends when we go out to eat because I can do it so fast in my head.
Oh I see!! Took me a minute to figure out why you were multiplying by three...
So is the fee 33 cents then? Including the +30 cents?
Yeah. That's right. Approximately, it may end up being 34 or 35 cents because of rounding off the fractions of a cent.
Just remember that percents mean "how many hundredths". Break it down, instead of saying "34 percent of X" say "Make X into 100 parts, then take 34 of them". A lot of math is simpler if you break it down into component steps.
Well, that pocket change isn't worth getting all worried about.
When it happened when I was collecting troop support donations, I just made other arrangements and it worked out fine. But one can do that with friends.
However, it asked me if I wanted to upgrade and I declined.
This is a business transaction, so if they try to pay with a credit card, when PayPal asks me if I want to upgrade, I'll just say yes. It's free, accept for the fees.
Good. Not enough to worry about.
Perhaps you should have invented a really weird story for the sprouter. Those "my wife left me so I'm selling her wedding dress" auctions always do well.
The first donation you sent on March 11th 2003 was denied by me, I think that was the one that was by credit card. On the 14th you sent me another one with the notation "Second try" and it cleared.
can i go home now?
Me, too?
Urgh, I'm really glad I didn't bike today... having issues here...
I'm fighting this stoopid cold.
I considered staying home today, but it's quieter here.
Heh... maybe you should pretend you're being sent on a business trip and check into a hotel all weekend.
Nah, it's okay. There would've just been no point in staying home to "rest" today.
