The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!

Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Let them go! Let them go!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

He is... unfortunately, and he's really tired of being there. They are quite concerned about the infection worsening, and are going to keep him at least another day.

Really he feels pretty good and his pain is much less, so he was quite disappointed to not be able to go home.
He's tired of the whole thing and I feel bad for him. I think the worst part of hospitals is that everything seems to be in slow motion, hours of waiting, no one knows how long till anything is supposed to happen. And as of today, they still weren't letting him eat.

I brought him my copy of LoTR.... always a good time to re-read that. What he'd most like is to get up and move around... and then to eat. He might get to eat by tonight, if they decide he won't be having any more surgery.

God bless him, this just breaks my heart.

Thanks for the update, we'll continue to keep him in our prayers. We'll pray for peace of mind and healing.

Heh...it may be silly, but that's how I am. I can't see killing her just because I don't like her.

The meat birds were always just what they are now...a future dinner. My heart and mind are content with that.

I revised my auction...did you see it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4394421241

I hope I did it right...I'm so nervous!

I'm going to see how this goes and then start looking for other items to sell! I mean, my goodness, if I sell this thing for $5 after only paying 59 cents for it...I can do the same thing with other things!

It's for the knives!!! Nine people have looked at it so far...(I hope it's not all HHD! LOL)

Here is the MO-Jam-Moot crue...

L to R; Master Osage, LSAggie;mrsnad and thenewboy, theboy, thegirl, and g'nad

sal izzuh friend of Osage, and a very talented generous guy... he gifted thekidz with yucca quivers from his native Kalifornia... the arrows in the quivers were made by the master bowman...

One of the MO-Jam traditions is to have a firetruck come and spay the road... and anyone near by... thekidz participated with great enthusiasm...

we're ready to crash after a busy, fun-filled week...

Heh...you joke, but there were farmers back home that seriesly believed in ghost cows. I'm not kiddin'!

There was a family who kept younger heifers in a barn near our house - the main barn was a few miles away. Every so often the heifers would get out (usually every couple years there was an extra smart one that'd lead the others into trouble) and we'd have to call the farmer to let him know they were wandering where they shouldn't be.

One time we just saw one out - strangely it appeared to be a milk cow rather than a heifer - and called about her. Talked to the farmer's wife, but she just said "Oh, that's so-and-so...she passed away a few years ago, but she shows up now and then." Um...kay.

Great pics! Looks like a good time! It's hot here, 75 - I'm sweltering anyway ;~D I'd have played in the hose!

OT and I went out for a short walk in the back forty, and Bay took advantage of her for a good face rubbin'. Her white t-shirt needs laundering now!

We'll take some more pics in the morning of OT feeding the squirrels ;~D
