secure them with WHAT?
Anyone have the comments from President Bush that were released a short time ago?
secure them with WHAT?
A Homeland Civil Defense Corps? At this stage of the game, Mike, we're stretched too thin to use the military. The BP doesn't have enough agents. The Minutemen lack legitimacy, unfortunately.
All that leaves is a corps of volunteers recruited and retained by the government, whether that be State or Federal.
But the lack of a border security force should not be reason to shrug our shoulders and say "Oh, well..." I don't believe that's what you're doing, but I do believe there are folks out there with that attitude who would accept the status quo with resignation.
Our national security deserves a debate on and resolution to the problem of border security.
For starters land mines, at least until we can fully man the border. It would take less time to train and man a border patrol force than it would take to train and man the Iraqi military. Anything is better than the status quo.
landmines.
Perhaps the TSA. The new, big, bloated, bureaucracy established after the cows had left the barn and generally used to harass American citizens.
"secure them with WHAT?"
From the 10,000+ people who are strolling across them unaccounted for EACH WEEK.
Stay in Iraq, it's probably safer there.
"Secure them with what?"
Well the least we could do is get the INS to allow the local police to turn illegals in and then ship them back to wherever they came from. Thats not happening now.
We have 130,000 troops in Iraq alone, that would do a splendid job guarding OUR country...It's time to get 'em home...Now...
land mines!!!
