Karl Marx

The Author but not inventor of Marxism though it bears his name, Karl Marx is an Icon among liberals and atheists. What Buddha is to Buddhism and Mohammad is to Islam; Karl Marx is to liberal socialism. Karl Marx did not invent communism but you might say he was the one who popularized it. Some call Karl Marx a philosopher but since philosophy means the love of knowledge and Karl Marx didn’t love anything I don’t think he was.

Karl Marx was born in 1818 in Trier Prussia, which is now part of Germany. Karl was born in an upper middle class Jewish home. His father Hershel was a lawyer and came from a long line of rabbi’s. Karl’s uncle Samuel was the Chief Rabbi of Trier. Karl’s family converted to the state church, which was Lutheran in order to help his career as a lawyer. At age 17 Karl enrolled in Bonn University law school. Karl became engaged to Jenny von Westphalin the daughter of very important government official. So Karl was forced by his father to move to Berlin and enroll in a more serious school, Friedrich Wilhelm University.

Later he became a member of the Young Hegelian movement. They were a radical anti-Christian group that opposed the Prussian government. He was no longer allowed to practice law in Prussia so he became a journalist of a liberal newspaper. Marx wrote articles condemning the Prussian government and their economic polices. Marx’s articles got the newspaper shut down and so he immigrated to France.

Marx arrived in France in 1843. Soon afterward he connected with some German workers and French socialists. With in a few months Karl became a communist and wrote a series of economic and philosophical manuscripts, which remained unpublished until 1930. It was in Paris where Karl met his lifelong companion Frederick Engels. Perhaps these two were homosexual as well, but no one really knows.

Marx was expelled from France and moved in with Engels in Brussels. In Brussels Marx studied history intently. He concluded that materialism throughout history created the conditions that determined the production of industry. He determined that industrial capitalism would be replaced by communism.

In 1847 Marx and Engels attended a conference of The London Communist League where he was commissioned to write a declaration of their positions. So The Communist Manifesto was published in 1848. The Communist Manifesto created a stir of revolution all over Europe. In the early years of the industrial age working conditions were poor and that had a great influence for his book. It was this book that became the bible to the Atheists and ultra liberals. This book is how socialism got the name of Marxism and it laid the groundwork for monstrous dictators like Stalin, Mao, Hitler and Pol-Pot.

In 1949 a revolutionary upheaval of the working class in France seized power from King Louis Philippe. Marx was invited back, but the government quickly collapsed and Marx moved to Cologne and was quickly expelled again. He finally moved to London where Engles’ family had textile interests.

In 1852 Marx wrote his famous pamphlet “The Eighteenth Brunair of Louis Bonaparte” in which he criticizes Napoleon’s takeover of France.

From 1852 to 1861 while in London he contributed to Horace Greeley’s New York Tribune, as it’s European correspondent. Later it was found that Karl Marx’s correspondences were false, made up of misquotes and general dishonesty. Not only was Karl Marx Anti Capitalist but also he was anti-Semitic and anti Christian. Marx once stated, “to be a Jew is to be a capitalist”. Since Karl Marx was a staunch anti capitalist person to call a Jew a capitalist would have been the lowest thing he could think of. Karl Marx’s views on Jews greatly influenced Hitler himself who based many of his views on Karl Marx’s writings. Karl Marx’s hatred of religion came out of an influence by Charles Darwin.

Karl Marx descended into Hell in 1883, before he could see his writings put into practice. So he did not get to see the real destruction his writings contributed to. He was buried in High gate Cemetery in north London. If you are ever in the area go ahead and spit on his grave I know I intend to if I ever make it to London.
