I am interested in the personal opinions of any FReepers who have spent time in Costa Rica. Hubby and I have been doing research into the country to gather information for a possible extended family adventure.
I have corresponded with others who have spent time there, and now I want the FReeper take on it. I trust you guys. Well, most of you anyway!

Well.
You're dumb.
So there.
I will not participate in the highjacking of my own thread.
Be gone, Queen Tard.

It is everything the freepers have told you. One hint: If you want it when you get home, hold it in your hand very tightly.
Theft is the national sport.

I've been there several times during yacht deliveries through the Panama Canal. Flamingo Bay, Costa Rica is my favorite. Beautiful place with nice people and there is a small ex-American owned restaurant near the water that serves ribs to die for. Do watch out for the poisonous water snakes though. Have been to Quepos, Punta Arenas, Drake, and there is a rain forest island off of Drake that is a definite must see. San Jose is an ok place to fly into, but I wouldn't want to stay there.

I definitely do not want to stay in San Jose.Quepos, Grecia, and Tamarindo seem to come up a lot, so I will check those out.
Have to watch the proposed legislation in Costa Rica regarding taxation and rentista status. If they pass, it will be mass exodus on the part of foreigners. That, of course, will do the CR economy NO good.
Thanks for your comments.

What? Of course I do, but what difference does that make to the rib factor?

How was your trip? I'm also planning a trip in early Nov, and found your old thread from July - presume you've been there and back by now.
I'll be going with 2 others to Tamarindo/Guancaste, Alajuela and somewhere else I don't remember at the moment.
