And I'm one of her favorite humans! Hmmph! LOL
Oh, that's sweet! What a good mama. Keep her safe; she's probably been through a lot and is very relieved and happy to have you now.
Congratulations on the new arrival! My kitty is a little black cat, so the new baby already has a special place in my heart! Can't wait to see the pics!
The mother kitty seems so down. She's looking around for her kittens and just doesn't understand. I'm doing everything I can to cheer her up. One of the security guys who was taking care of her said "She just had a bad batch." He's very sad, too.
They're going to go ahead and get Compound Kitty fixed and we'll keep her happy and loved.
Make sure you give Compound Kitty a scratch behind the ears for me. So sad, but she is lucky to have the folks in your compound taking care of her.
My condolences to you too. I know you were looking forward to the kittens as well.
She'll be okay in a while, especially if she can get some extra attention the next few days. Just a thought - Is mama cat lactating? Does the vet have any orphaned kittens that need nursing? Please give Compound Kitty an extra hug from me and one for you for helping her, too.
Oh, man, I feel like somebody just punched me in the stomach and I never even saw the kitty. I can't imagine how everyone is feeling out there. {{{hugs}}}
We are spoiling Compound Kitty and she is doing better, bless her heart. She purred for me this evening when I held her.
It's night time now and I'm off to bed soon.
Tomorrow will be better. ;-)
I used to have three kittens
when I was a younger cat,
And Id forgotten what its like
To cuddle them like that.
Wait, whats this? Whats this I see?
Could this really be?
Three precious kittens standing there,
looking right at me!
They had to leave their mommy,
And their newfound human friends,
Now they have me to love them,
Til they see their mom again.

Cats are true survivors and we can learn a lot from them. All of my four girls are strays and each has its own horrifying story. Mama is the one who sounds like Compound Kitty. She took almost 5 months to take in. She'd been mistreated and hated people so much you couldn't get near her. But she was starving to death and that's how we spotted her; she got so desperate, she was eating birdseed that had fallen out of my feeders, including the one on the deck. Of course I started putting kibble out there for her.
She was pregnant and only two kittens survived. She hated kids, though. Long story short, she's here living the life of Miss Piggy. She went through so much, she's making up for it and it's tons of fun to see.
