Look At The Birds

Read:
Matthew 6:25-34

Look at the birds of the air . . . . Are you not of more value than they? —Matthew 6:26

Bible In One Year: Isaiah 4-6

cover When you shift your mind into neutral and just let it idle, where do your thoughts go? Do you worry about money? We are to be careful with money, but Jesus taught that we are not to be full of care about it. If you have put your faith in the Lord, you don't have to worry about life's necessities. God Himself has assumed responsibility for your food and clothing—and all your needs.

When Jesus spoke of our need for food, He pointed to the birds, and said, "They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:26). That doesn't mean we get what we need by doing nothing. Birds must scratch and search for food. The point is, they don't worry about it.

Jesus instructed us to center our lives on God's kingdom. Then clothing, food, and drink will be ours as well. Look at it this way: Whether or not you live only for money, you'll ultimately leave it or it will leave you. But if you focus your life on God and doing His will, all these other things will be provided.

Does your concern for making money and keeping it overshadow your concern for doing God's will? If so, stop and look at the birds. —Haddon Robinson

Children of the heavenly Father
Safely in His bosom gather;
Nestling bird nor star in heaven
Such a refuge e'er was given. —Berg

Poverty of purpose is far worse than poverty of purse.

morning Rus, Amy, tulip, oesy, Vic, Bob EVERYONE ... not too much sleep but the few hours I got were good.. well somehow with my day out , watching the London horror unfold in Morning, I let chocolate day for dinner slip through my fingers. DRAT.

But "Be a kid day".. now if there was EVER a day for me that is it. I hope to get my vital stuff done early enough that I get to REALLY play & not just write about it..

Oesy, agree with your comments etc politically.. We are too easy on potential terrorists here with out PC mentality & our Pubbie leaders to easy on the elected RATS who are tearing our country apart apparently NOT fully comprehending that this past NOV they DID loose the election. I like Hugh Hewett & listen on/off to political talk radio most of day.. Bill Bennet starts at 6 AM here. then Laura Ingran 9-12; 12-3 either Rush or Dennis Preger; 3-6 Michael Medved & then in PM. I don't sit by radio all day but have about 4 going around house while I do various things the talk shows follow me (or I follow them). I don't feel terribly politically competent to converse on most issues in depth.. but have an overview & thanks to FR, when I need more info it is there & easy to find.

I had NOT heard about the navy seal captured.. that makes my blood boil.

well, going to check more news & get going here..

Later FRiends here
