Sheesh...I meant to send this to you and sent it to myself. I've got to get away from the computer...been doing bandwidth and protocol analysis of VNC most of the latter half of today...my brain hurts...or itches...I can't tell which anymore. :-) ...anyway...what I wrote was...

Do you know what knoppix is? Do you ever use Linux? Knoppix might help to at least determine if the problem is with your hardware. ...but you'd have to download an ISO image for Knoppix and burn it to a CD....and if you're having problems burning data, it might all be a moot point anyway with Knoppix.

Knoppix is a Linux distro that runs entirely from a CD-ROM. It's got about every common (and some uncommon) utilities and applications included. It's pretty easy to use though (IMHO). If you do managed to get it burned to CD and booted, just look for an app called K3B. It's a decent CD creation/burning utility. If it works, then there's nothing wrong with your CD/RW drive.

The URL to their site is http://www.knoppix.org and it's a couple of hundred meg download, so I HOPE you have broadband. Give it a try. At least it will rule out Windows.

Windows apps rely on so many APIs provided by MS...and there are so many things undisclosed in the APIs that I don't feel they can ever be trusted....hence using something like Knoppix (Linux).

Yep I replaced "all lines" ,sewer, water and added french drains on the perimeter of the restoration in progress shack'astrophy. I can flush an Eaker down that baby now !!

My XP works with either RW/W. You might want to remove the disc and put it back in.

I have the same problem on occasions.

I have a four MB per second connection, but now it is working at 2 KB per second. Something is wrong.

yeah. It generally downloads between 250 and 500. It's at 82%

It's finished. It downloaded to my desktop, and I am copying the folder to a CD. Is this what I'm supposed to do?
