Andy and his friends have done just about everything possible to obscure what is truly going on. This has been going on for almost 2 months now.
Andy's friend, Beth, started a fundraiser on DU to raise $50k that was purportedly for pancreatic cancer surgery, and the $50k had to be given to the hospital, Johns Hopkins, up front before the surgery. The alleged surgery date was May 10. The surgery was then cancelled and at different times 3 different "reasons" were given for why it was cancelled, all of those reasons contradicting the others. He ended up having some type of surgery on May 25.
Andy has never ONCE himself uttered the words "I have cancer", he has used other leading words and phrases like "I have a tumor", etc. His fundraisers and friends are the ones who keep saying cancer and that he would die without this surgery. To this date, this stands. And Andy and his friends have said they will post proof of a cancer diagnosis (first offered back on May 2 and as recently as about 10 days ago). Nada.
There is no accounting of the fundraiser no matter what Beth is saying. The method she used to keep track was asking people to email her what they were pledging/sending. That's it. I'm sure she meant well in heading this thing up, but the fact of the matter is that all the money raised went to Andy directly (to his paypal and amazon accounts, and to his P.O. Box in Seattle).
The fundraiser is not registered with the Secretary of State of WA State, although they are now allegedly working on it, but it is currently not registered. The only reason they are registering it is because they were told by "questioners" that they needed to, and at first they scoffed at it and called people liars.
Lastly the Goonie Brigade surrounding Andy has threatened people who ask questions about the fundraiser with things ranging from revealing their identities on the internet (in a couple of cases it's already happened), charging them with "crimes", siccing lawyers after them, and accusing them of trying to murder Andy. It's been totally crazy. Now ask yourself, if you called a fundraiser or charity to inquire about it and got that kind of response, what would you think?
Anyway, there's a little summary, but because it's all so convoluted I couldn't possibly cover it all.
