I don't know what we'll eat, but the weekend will primarily involve keeping my dogs and horses sedated while my neighbors get their thrills lighting off explosives and destroying the peace.
I love my country, but I hate the fourth of July. I did even before I had animals, and hate it even more now.

To each his/her own. If I had a heard of critters like you, I may well feel the same. OTOH, I have always loved the 4th and Independence Day celebrations.
