Delayed one day by rain, Nextel Cup cars are now practicing at Daytona International Speedway. Busch Series Winn-Dixie 250 qualifying is set for 2:15 p.m. ET, to be followed by Pepsi 400 qualifying at 4:40 p.m. ET.
After 22 minutes the practice times are:
Bliss
Harvick
Kvapil
Burton
DJ
Smoke
Riggs
Flash
RR
Biff
Busch
MM
Marlin
Rusty
SlowCasey
and so on......

Practice from this morning is being shown on Speed now.
Busch qualifying will be on Trackpass in about 15 minutes. Trackpass is free this weekend.

Interesting practice. Gonna be hard to choose between Smoke and Flash because qualifying position can be deceiving in an impound race. Decisions, decisions... aaarrrgh...
I do have Smoke but the other one is Jr. Eeeeek or not?
I was thinking not to use Flash because of his problems and also to save him for the final 10. Of course if he's not in the chase then..........but I think he will make it.
Jr needs to shoot for the 400 point limit and needs the leaders to falter, that's asking a lot IMO. But, I can hope and so can NBC because they need the viewers.
Harvick just picked up the pole for Busch tonight. He has a good car for Cup as well, but I've picked him 5 times already so I had to sit him out, Biffle out MM out and Edwards out.

TNT showing NEXTEL qualifying now...Kerry Earnhardt off first...nutzero car with Bliss in it on track now.
Kerry hangs on, Bliss (fastest in practice) second and B Labonte.

OTOH, as the track and air temp decrease, speeds will increase. Late runners will have the advantage, if the weather is stable.
