Oddly, in about 1971? Eric Burdon and War played at a college dance at a local community college. I remember dancing right next to Eric Burdon--who was wasted and had a leather purse. I had loved his music and was dis-enamored by seeing his slide down.

I was engaged to a gal, along time ago, whose father was good friends with Eric Burdon. He played harp and would jam with Eric. His wife, my potential Mom-in-Law, played flute and would jam ocassionally. Eric gave my fiance's father some of his gold records (couldn't have been many) He subsequently sold them for drugs.

I figured Eric Burdon had sold 'em for drugs, himself.
