It's hot, sunny, and beautiful, why?

Since the Direcway satellite is located on the east coast the weather can affect the transmission but I suspect it is the same as before. I do not know why it stopped receiving.

I will try to call them tomorrow but I have a tough time understanding their respresentatives. It may be a good time to switch satellite companies.

That's a good idea, Amy. You've been having problems for a few days now.

hi ladies.. It would be nice to have satellite or cable. Dial up takes SOOOO long. It reminds me how much i wish there was more competition in the industry. so I am editing pix on another computer as I wait for various threads to open, to post or to download email.

Amy, I was at Stan Hywet today. about 200 pix there to go thru etc.If I had a fast service I would send you a few dozen for a preview..

a bunch more pix needing work for Sun - Tues at VBS. My eyes are heavy though & I am not alert enough to tackle my HTML problem. I know I can only make it worse when I am so tired.

Hi Dolly, good to see ya.

I have cable, the only time I had problems was when my computer wasn't working properly.

Good evening, Dolly.

I'm looking forward to seeing Stan Hywet Mansion and Gardens.

I've heard of it. The daughter of my friend in Ohio was married on the grounds of Stan Hywet. The pictures I saw were lovely.

How long will it take to get from Columbus to Akron? We would like to take Marissa to the zoo Friday morning.

I wish I had access to cable. Satellite TV and Satellite internet. Bummer.

I live too far out in the country to get cable. In addition to whatever the equipment and installation were, I pay $60 per month for the satellite connection.

I have cable I know I am in the UK but only problem I have is that occasionally I have to turn my top box off and allow the info to down load from the cable company have to do that for the TV as well sometimes.

Or if I accidentally knock the USB connection on the front of the computer as mine is a LAN rather than an internal modem.

Apart from that I am more than pleased with it. In the UK for a basic broadband connection the price is only about 4 dollars more than dial up but then I am certain compared to you dial in the UK is expensive.

Having switched to cable though I would recommend this to everyone the difference is so noticeable and also the convenience of it not affecting your phone calls.

Does that cost cover your TV as well? I pay approximately that for my broadbank connection (£28.00) which I suppose conversion rate is now about 1.80.

Well, change your connection if they can solve the problem. It isn't cheap.

I would love something "faster" if finances permitted (they dont). Each system has it's advantages/disadvantages, I guess. I am still trying to figure out the advantage of dial up.

lol

cable/satellite is about 60/mo & most people do NOT like the email service provided so keep their other one, or get it back if they cancelled. Again stinkin' monopoly. i pay 29/mo for aol. Like it but with the phone lines everything takes forever.

GOing to try to crash soon. Have very busy next few days.

Unfortunately no. My satellite bill for my TV is $56 per month. I have Dish Network for TV. Dish offers satellite but if I understand correctly, you cannot upload images. I should check to see if that is still true.

I had been thinking of changing my TV to DirectTV but I'm not sure what to do now. I keep hoping that broadband will become available.

Yep ..... I keep my dial up service. It costs $20 per month. Now you know why I don't complain about the golf fees that hubby pays. :)

My internet services cost $80 per month.

Have a restful evening, Dolly.

Hering about your satellite and cable woes makes me realise that maybe we are not quite backward in the UK as I thought.

Most of the UK can now carry broadband on the normal telephone service and it only the remote areas which I suppose are similar to where you come from that do not have cable.

Also looking at what you pay the costs are very similar again to the UK. Though I have heard some freepers saying they pay much less I suppose again it depends what area you are in and what the competition is.

Instinctively Wrong

Read:
Jude 1:18-20

You, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God. —Jude 1:20

Bible In One Year: Amos 7-9

cover Saul Gellerman, in his book How People Work, says, "Solving tough organizational problems may require counter-intuitive strategies." In business, counter-intuitive is a fancy way of referring to ideas that go against common sense.

Consultants who advocate such thinking are simply reinforcing the advice of Jesus. Over and over, He urged His followers to do what God said was right, not what desire, instinct, and intuition told them to do.

Desire says, "I want it." Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35).

Instinct says, "Me first." Jesus said, "The last will be first, and the first last" (Matthew 20:16).

Intuition says, "I'll feel better if I get revenge." Jesus said, "Do good to those who hate you" (Luke 6:27).

Wanting something doesn't make it good. Achieving something doesn't make it valuable. And having strong feelings about something doesn't make it right. As Jude wrote, those who follow their own desires and instincts lead others into conflict and division (1:18-19).

The alternative is to be spiritual, which means doing what does not come naturally. In fact, it requires supernatural strength that only God can give. —Julie Ackerman Link

More about Jesus would I know,
More of His grace to others show,
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love who died for me. —Hewitt

You can trust your instincts when you are trusting Christ.
