I am trying to start a recruiting campaign to help out our military with their current recruiting shortage. One of my buddies is working as a recruiter right now and he told me about all the problems he is facing. I figured FR would be the best place to come to put something like this together because of the political leanings and the willingness to stand up and fight against terrorism. I've been here before and mostly perused the site without joining but i thought this was important enough to join. Basically what i am trying to do is start a grassroots campaign of teachers, football coaches, parents, etc. of the conservative mindset that would be willing to try and recruit one person each to serve in the military. They recently raised the age to 38 for the reserves so even some us old timers might have a go at it.
If you can help please feel free to e-mail me or post any ideas about getting something like this started.

Hmmm, a Multi Level Marketing approach to military recruiting. Perhaps you could check with Amway/Alticor and have them put together a package they could offer their distributors ;-)

I don't think who is CIC matters much. They couldn't meet recruitment goals in the Clinton years and aren't even coming close to meeting those goals now. Kids now want to go to college and then find a job. They sure as hell don't want to put theirselves in harm's way. The CIC doesn't matter for recruiting as few kids can even name the VP, much less the president

I have tried to enlist many many times but it seems the military thinks that a person with epilepsy would do more harm than good. :(

Never heard of anyone making their decision to serve based on who is the President. Then again, I don't get out much...

He can drive this and drive effectivly.

You are wrong!! The military does care who the CIC is. They know that he is their boss. Clinton weakened the military with "don't ask, don't tell", making officers serve tidbits to people that said that they hated the military, not to mention the head guy refusing to serve and putting in writing how much he hated the military. Now tell me that it does not make a difference. The military wants someone in charge that they can trust and respect.
