1924: 2 farms that were hit by an F4 tornado on that day would be hit again 42 years, 11 months, 2 weeks and 11 days later by an F5 tornado. Well, they have a few at least a few more years before they need to begin worrying, eh?

Although, if this keeps up, I for one, wouldn't want to be present for the big one. The '68 storm destroyed 111 homes, killed 9 people in Tracy, MN and carried a steel I-beam 2 miles on a piece of roof.

1996: A thunderstorm downburst over the extreme SE part of VA's Arlington County caused gusts to 59 mph at Washington National Airport. Simultaneously with this, a jet shuttle was rotating for takeoff and clipped a runway light. Nothing to see here, move along now.

1997: Tourists at the Wright Brothers National Memorial at NC's Kill Devil Hills had a little bit of excitement on that day. A waterspout moved ashore at Baum Bay and damaged two homes. Then it traveled to Memorial and injured one person and damaging 9 cars.

"...steel I-beam 2 miles on a piece of roof."

That's one hell of a wind.

Isn't that the same as 42 years, 11 months, 3 weeks and 4 days?

Just curious.

Maybe. Could be pure balistics though.

The "3" key must be stuck and they didn't know how to insert the hex code for it.

Or, they're graduates of Harvard and can't count.

Nothing on ball lightning, but we had record rainfall for June 22nd in Las Vegas. We had 7/100ths of an inch yesterday to shatter the previous record of only 2/100ths of an inch. Monsoon season is a bitch here.

Well, as I can see from post #9, that seems to be a phenomenon that's spreading. Apparently Las Vegas is now being affected too. At this rate and if this keeps up...

I thought the F4 was a Phantom. I don't know what the Tornado is...maybe we should ask the British.

My neighbors here in MN got hit by a tornado a few years back. All it did was slide the silos a few feet away from the barn.

I think it's the GR1. Which shows how much of an airplane geek I am. Geeze. I need to get a life.

Ahh...I remember those days - I was at Nellis from 1984 to 1994. Now I'm back home in East Tennessee, where 7/100s of an inch is how much dew we have on the ground.
