It just didn't occur to anyone in Connecticut that this was one. Instead, they went to court and got screwed by the lawyers and the judges.

The good old second amendment. I hope it won't come to that. But I'm just the one who in a situation like this would use it.
Now that they're awake, the people in Connecticut need to pressure lawmakers there to close this loophole, and amend the Connecticut state consitutution if necessary.
I sense that the vast majority of FReepers don't know what the eminent domain laws are in their individual states. They need to find out. This is a great opportunity for local activism to fix the problem.
