It was definitely a steal at $55 for the 2-day 2-series weekend, and even if they had declared the pits "hot", the fence separating the paddock and the pits was close enough to catch much of the action (which made the pits themselves more than a bit cramped). In fact, a couple of the pits are on the angled entrance to pit road (Committment line? What committment line?)

Roush sure knows how to find them, especially lately. Carl was definitely interested in running those last 50, and given the weather I ran into on the way home near the airport (heavy thundershowers), that probably cost him some more time. Even if he came in at one of the smaller airports that can handle business jets, that line was long and widespread.

Like I said, watching 360 with Kenny and company was THE highlight. The laugh is what drew people in (well, Rusty had to listen to it his whole life). He's definitely an upbeat person, and is always willing to take time out for the fans (he had a Sharpie handy for autographs during that rain delay, and came out to pose for pictures with the fans during the commercials). No wonder why he got some serious cheers in driver introductions.

From what I gather (through TP video), they were very strict with the lug nuts. An official even ran in front of Johnny's car when he saw that one of the front-left lugs was loose. As for the penalty, with it happening in turn 4, I had to watch replays either on crews' TVs or one of the Jumbotrons on either end of the frontstretch (could only catch the frontstretch and turn 1 from the pits). It sure as heck was intentional though (plus it put several other cars back on the lead lap).

Pics should be up about 12:30 or so Central (not enough time between now and when I leave for church to get them done).

Another thing I was very impressed with about Kenny after watching Nascar 360 last year was his devotion to his wife and kids. He always took the time to say how much he loved them and how great they were. It looks like they all usually go to the races together.
