I agree, may the best man win. But more importantly, I hope they work out the recent problems with their crews, cars, etc., and become contenders for the Nextel Cup.
I am really surprised that Jeff is having so much trouble lately. It's not Hendrick style to struggle like this. Although all the new tire changes, gear rules and spoiler height changes may just be the problem. Even JJ didn't run well last week.
What I love about Jr is his what you see is what you get personality. He does not put on airs, he speaks his mind even if it costs him money. The switch with the cars by DEI management was a dumb move IMO. They take Mikey who admittedly only has a few years left and give him a team and cars that were in contention for the championship last year. They take their #1 driver and sponsor and give them the crap cars that Mikey drove last year????
I don't know who came up with this idea, but now they are paying for it. To make matters worse they gave Jr a rookie crewchief (Rondeau) and expect him to set the car up with no help from the Eury's. The Eury's admitted this past week that they didn't share with their old driver because they wanted to show that it was them who made the car a winner. Of course the you know what hit the fan a few weeks ago and they are now sharing. (so they say) And, the whole mess is dumped in Steve Hmiels lap to fix.
