On this day in:
1992: N/WC IN observed frost and 33 Deg. F reported near Crawfordville. 500,000 acres of crop succummed to global warming that morning, and farmers lost $40 million as a result. 87,000 acres of corn were destroyed. Indianapolis reported 37 Deg. F. setting a record low for June, July and August against records stemming from 1875.
1997: Thunderstorms from the 21st through the 22nd caused flash flooding in parts of MI's Allegan/Ottawa counties and unofficially up to 13" rain on Zeeland flooded 20% of the cities streets. 200+ roads totally partially washed out (some to 8' deep).
1998: Today's 97 Deg. F. broke the date record by 2 Deg. F. at Melbourne, FL; record highs set 20 days this month and tied twice. Because of relatively dry air (June '98 was the driest on record) with only 0.16" rain, the low of 68 Deg. F. tied the record.

No weather here, as usual. Smoke, though. Makes the sun and the sky a funny color.
Good on you Raygun for the Wx Factoid.
I remember that in 1992, in Ohio. Frost all over the ground on the morning of the first day of summer. That whole summer was cool and pretty crappy!
