I need legal help... I'm a single mother in Austin, TX... I've known about a piece of property, a 2 bedroom house that's been unoccupied for a while now. Nothing's being done to the property/house since the owner died. I've tried locating and contacting living relatives inquiring about their plans for the house and offered to rent or buy it. I've had no luck/responses. If I just move into the house, openily live in it what would happen legally if relatives of the owner pop up and claim the house while we're living there? Is there something I can do to while living there to prove my intent to pay rent or buy it? Thanx! FreedomRyder

Somebocy owns it. Try looking at the tax records for the address and see who pays the taxes.
