After receiving numerous complaints that the 1970s sucked and were not worthy of a vanity thread, here at the Pissant/CPOWife Research Center we've decided to select a decade that had more worthwhile activities to ponder. Though many positive events developed during the 1980s, there were plenty of stink-bombs as well. To further our research, we encourage everyone to participate in this scientific survey.
Without further ado, the Best and Worst of the 1980s:

I remember it well. We were in church and had a special prayer for the Marines. I STILL contend Ronald Reagan was some of the BEST of the l980's.

I always liked INXS so much better. Remember the song Don't Change?
Heres the lyrics:
"Don't Change"
I'm standing here on the ground
The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all direction
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark
For too long
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I found a love I had lost
It was gone for too long
Hear no evil in all directions
Execution of bitterness
Message received loud and clear
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I'm standing here on the ground
The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all directions
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark for too long
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me

Yes, he was involved with the ex wife of a very powerful record executive. The story was that he got off on asphyxiation during sex. But the underground think he was murdered by the record exec. No suicide note, and no story of a woman being with him. Kind of odd.

I would hope that there will be. They definitely were both sent to positions of power at just the right time though weren't they? I mean they were very effective seperately, but together they were a hurricane force.

It was 1986, not 1968. It was wonderful, Reagan did it during prime time.

INXS was great in the beginning ("The Swing", "Shabooh Shoobah" and "Listen Like Thieves"), but then they became to mainstream.
"The Alarm" was also great and early "Psychedelic Furs."
