After receiving numerous complaints that the 1970s sucked and were not worthy of a vanity thread, here at the Pissant/CPOWife Research Center we've decided to select a decade that had more worthwhile activities to ponder. Though many positive events developed during the 1980s, there were plenty of stink-bombs as well. To further our research, we encourage everyone to participate in this scientific survey.
Without further ado, the Best and Worst of the 1980s:

Ringwald mulls 'Sixteen Candles' sequel
LOS ANGELES (AP) Could it be time to put more candles on the cake? Molly Ringwald said she's in discussions to make a sequel to Sixteen Candles, the 1984 movie about the obstacles and embarrassments a teen girl faces on her birthday.
Molly Ringwald has come out of the woodworks, not only appearing at the MTV Movie Awards, but talking about a Sixteen Candles sequel too.
The film, directed by John Hughes, shot Ringwald to teen stardom, but she hasn't appeared in a major role in many years. She said she's been appearing in theater, small TV and film parts and raising a daughter, now 18 months old.
Ringwald, 37, said she had been approached repeatedly about doing a sequel, but recently read a script that she liked and wanted to star in the movie.
"I've turned it down for years. I couldn't see how it would work," she said. "Now, it seems right."
Ringwald was reunited at the MTV Movie Awards on Saturday with Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheedy and Paul Gleason, three of her co-stars in 1985's The Breakfast Club, directed by John Hughes.
Judd Nelson and Emilio Estevez didn't show.
"They're in Africa with Dave Chappelle," Hall joked.
Why on earth would we want to do that? ;-)
He was just at the House of Blues this April, but I couldn't get a sitter.
The one and only time I saw him was the summer of '87 when he was touring for Whiplash Smile. The Cult opened up for him. Excellent show!
No kidding, could be used as blackmail...
Posterity? yeah, that's it! ;o)
Is Molly still a cutie?
I've seen him five times in the past 20 or so years. I can't believe he's that old now. Heck, I can't believe I'm that old now. :-)
"She said she's been appearing in theater, small TV and film parts and raising a daughter, now 18 months old."
She SAID? I think your career is over when the writer has to rely on your word that you've been working!
Her career ended a long time ago, I never cared for her
Or some other nefarious purpose that I wouldn't even want to guess at.
Oh Baby........Oh...
You are so good to me...
Don't be dissin' Molly.
