crispy bob, formerly known as happy

I often here Rush and other conservatives talk about seminars that liberals like me can attend to be instructed on how to call conservative talk shows, post on conservative websites, etc. The problem is that I have missed so many such seminars. Can somebody bring me up to speed? THANKS!

My son wonders why my CDs take so long to get scratched up. I wondered why he scratches his up so much. Then I realized he never handled vinyl....

Oh yeah.
The 45's I had, don't know where they are at the moment, they had one or two that got dust caked into them.
Gently cleaning with soapy water and letting air dry was quite fun.
Never had that happen with the 33's.

CD's do get scratched way too easy as well.
Small amount of dust instide a tightly fitting case and you're done.

Still, I've had CDs that are 8 years old and only got scratched because Teen was using my CD player without permission and left them unprotected.

Those of us who knew how to handle vinyl treat them with more respect.

Wouldn't the yellow snow be transmission fluid of a sort, only difference being that you have to empty the fluid periodically instead?

How old are you, really?

Hey kid, rock and roll
Rock on, ooh, my soul
Hey kid, boogey too, did ya

Hey shout, summertime blues
Jump up and down in my blue suede shoes
Hey kid, rock and roll, rock on

And where do we go from here
Which is the way that's clear

Only have one CD that is messed up, that was due to someone dripping nail polish remover on it.

Have cassettes that got messed up from the deck deciding to chew them apart.

Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God's love be with you
(spoken)
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Liftoff
This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
"This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much she knows"
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....
"Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do."

I liked this one from fairly early Bowie:

As they pulled you out of the oxygen tent
you asked for the latest party
With your silicon hump and your ten inch stump
Dressed like a priest you was,
Todd Browning streak he was
Crawling down the alley on your hands and knee,
I'm sure you're not protected, for its plain to see
Diamond Dogs are poachers, and they hide behind trees
Hunt you to the ground they will,
mannequins with kill appeal

*chorus*
Will they come?
I keep a friend serene
Will they come?
Oh, baby, come unto me
Will they come?
Well, she's come, been, and gone
Come out of the garden, baby
You'll catch a death in the fog
Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs
Young girl, they call them the Diamond Dogs

The Halloween Jack is a real cool cat,
and he lives on top of Manhattan Chase
The elevators broke, so he slides down a rope
onto the street below, oh Tarzie, go man, go
Meets his little hussy with his ghost-town approach
Her face is sans feature, but she wears a Dali broach
Sweetly reminiscent, something mother used to bake
Wrecked up and paralyzed, Diamond Dogs are sable-ized

*chorus*

Who-who-who
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Who-who-who
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Ahhh-whooo, ah
Ah-owwww
wuf-wuf

In the year of the scavenger, season of the b*tch
Sashay on the board-walk, scurry to the ditch
Just another future song, lonely little Keats
There's gonna be sorrow, try and wake up tomorrow

*chorus*

Who-who-who
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Who-who-who
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Bow-wow, woof woof, bow-wow, wow
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Dogs
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Call them, call them
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Call them, call them, ooooo
Call them the Diamond Dogs
Keep cool
Diamond Dogs, OK
Hey-hey-hey-hey
Beware of the Diamond Dogs
Beware of the Diamond Dogs
Beware of the Diamond Dog
Beware of the Diamond Dog
Dog, dog, dog
Beware of the Diamond Dog

(always thought this was pretty much cyberpunk before there was cyberpunk)

First, some Cream:

It's getting near dawn,
When lights close their tired eyes.
I'll soon be with you my love,
To give you my dawn surprise.
I'll be with you darling soon,
I'll be with you when the stars start falling.

I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love.

I'm with you my love,
The light's shining through on you.
Yes, I'm with you my love,
It's the morning and just we two.
I'll stay with you darling now,
I'll stay with you till my seas are dried up.

I've been waiting so long
I've been waiting so long
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love.

Now, some Devo

A victim of collision on the open sea
Nobody ever said that life was free
Sank, swam, go down with the ship
But use your freedom of choice

I’ll say it again in the land of the free
Use your freedom of choice
Your freedom of choice

In ancient rome there was a poem
About a dog who found two bones
He picked at one
He licked the other
He went in circles
He dropped dead

Freedom of choice
Is what you got
Freedom of choice!

Then if you got it you don’t want it
Seems to be the rule of thumb
Don’t be tricked by what you see
You got two ways to go

I’ll say it again in the land of the free
Use your freedom of choice
Freedom of choice

Freedom of choice
Is what you got
Freedom of choice!

In ancient rome
There was a poem
About a dog
Who found two bones
He picked at one
He licked the other
He went in circles
He dropped dead

Freedom of choice
Is what you got
Freedom from choice
Is what you want
(repeat)
