It's not that Katie is so much younger, it's that she is apparently star-struck and all too willing to join a cult and follow Tom around like a love sick puppy and overlook his rumored 'love' for men that is the problem. He wanted someone he could mold, and only a young, starstruck woman would do. Older women might remember his scientology wierdness or his breakup with Nicole, oddly done, or notice his getting some on the down low. Maybe naive is a better word for Katie, rather than young.

Im so old, I remember the interview where his first wife Mimi Rodgers described him as 'like a monk.'

"Sarah: That she is in the arms of Cruise at all makes no sense. He's twice her age, half her height, gay, and in a cult." (halfway down the page)

Too funny!

Naive? I don't think so. She's an actress--this is a publicity stunt, pure and simple. She's getting all kinds of coverage out of it, which is precisely what she wanted.

As for Tom, he gets more stories that pretend he is a heterosexual.

It's a Hollywood romance...everybody wins!
