Can any one do an analysis of the post-Watergate years and identify those instances where things happened that didn't make sense at the time but might be logical today in the context of knowing that a high level FBI official was a rat and might divulge secrets to get even.
Do we have cases where an FBI case against a commie, criminal or foreigner felt appart at the last minute?
Will some one obtain the records of Felt's Presidential (Reagan) pardon from the archives of the Pardon Attorney (only Bush, Clinton, Bush pardons appear to be on their site) so we can see what Felt admits that he did and was pardoned for.
The left-wing media will NEVER be interested in the truth on this, to them, Felt is a hero. WE all know better!!!

The media's snoregasm over this story is like their incessant referrals to Iraq as a "Vietnam-like quagmire." Both are references to the heyday of the mainstream media, when they brought down a sitting President, and brought about a defeat for the US military.

I don't know, but I remember that when he was married in 1938 the chaplain of the House of Representatives performed the service.

Worse than Felt are Woodward and Bernstein who have become rich because of what Felt gave them. Yet Felt lives in a garage while Woodward and Bernstein live high off the hog with the money they made.
Gotta love these liberals.

He was convicted of violating the civil rights of several friends and relatives of suspected members of the "Weather Underground" (self-described revolutionary organization of communist men and women) by ordering burglaries of their homes.

According to the Vanity Fair article Felt "claims no religious affiliation". .....he was in Hoover's FBI...............
he's NOT telling the truth!
.....maybe today he makes no claim,......but back THEN,.....
.....what was his religious denomination?
.....that was Hoover's FBI.......
/deep throat is ever 'deeper?
/sarcasm
......if you find out his 'history' (religious truth then)...please,....let me know.
Thanks again......

"Why should we believe that sticking it to Nixon was the only secret he ever told/sold to outsiders?..."
That's the ticket, right there.
People like Felt scare me. Regardless of how anyone feels about Nixon, Felt is the one who all of the sudden had an "epiphany" of self-righteousness...causing turmoil and division.
What did he hope to gain?
Facts are facts, and history is history. The heresy we hear about Nixon's paranoia, will to power, alcohol abuse, and drug-addicted, dysfunctional family are just that...heresy. There is no proof.
What there is proof of is a rock-solid cabinet, an incredible sense of international diplomacy, and infallible leadership.

What do to about this? Let it go.
Felt served this country admirably for decades in very difficult work. Whether he did the right thing or not in '72, he certainly did the right thing when he authorized break-ins against Weather Underground terrorists. He paid a price for this and was pardoned by President Reagan.
There are much, much more deserving targets.

I thought the difference between Democrats and Republicans were that the Dems protected their crooks (Clinton) while the Republicans condemned theirs (Nixon).

amen. Nixon was a crook, and it ill behooves conservatives to identify with him or defend him, or to make sly antisemitic aspersions about Felts supposed religious affiliations "for the record" I understand the SS kept excellent records too.

Worse than Felt are Woodward and Bernstein I kind of see it another way, like the treasonous Daniel Ellsberg, Woodward and Bernstein had the courage of their convictions. Felt has hidden out until he (or his daughter, more likely) judged that the public would not assail him and the prosecutors would not be after him.

Early life
Karl Marx's former home; now a museum. Trier, GermanyKarl Marx was born into a progressive Jewish family in Prussian Trier (now in Germany). His father Herschel, descending from a long line of rabbis, was a lawyer and his brother Samuel waslike many of his ancestorschief rabbi of Trier. In 1817 Heinrich Marx converted to the Prussian state religion of Lutheranism to keep his position as a lawyer, which he had gained under the Napoleonic regime. The Marx family was very liberal and the Marx household hosted many visiting intellectuals and artists during Karl's early life.
