(Vanity) Requesting info on West Nashville hotels, please

Posted on 06/02/2005 3:41:20 PM PDT by getmeouttaPalmBeachCounty_FL

Howdy all!

I need some help locating a clean, safe hotel on or near I-40 on the western side of Nashville. If they offer military discounts, even better! Nothing fancy...just clean, safe and a good night's rest.

FReepers are better than yahoo and google any day.

:)

I stayed in West Memphis recently on a trip from Houston to Chicago and back. No problems finding a decent motel. I know that doesn't help much.

I should also note:

Memphis has the ABSOLUTE BEST rock station anywhere on that route.

Try leaving a message on the TN board.

I would go to the Marriott Hotel site and choose any of their locations be it a Marriott, Residence Inn, Courtyard or Fairfield. They are always good, clean, and safe properties. And, I'm sure you'll get some locals or Nashville travelers to recommend places.

Thanks about the Rock station. Don't happen to know what it is, do you?

That's true. I'll try that a little later. (I need to go make dinner)

I suppose I'd also like input from anyone who knows which hotels have treated their employee/reservists well. We always enjoy spending our money on pro- military/America companies.

I don't recall to call sign, no. But I do remember wanting to bang my head on the steering wheel and shortly thereafter finding that I was going way - way over the speed limit.

Don't know much about the West side, but over here by the airport, LaQuenta, and Marriott Courtyard are good. Don't know about discounts, but good access to I-40LMK if more info is needed.

The way I-40 cuts Nashville is unusual because the northern half on the west side is more industrial or Cumberland River and further out becomes rather rugged and unpopulated Cheatham county.

To be on the west side and still in Nashville-Davidson County, I would opt for anything at 1-440 and West End or Bellevue which is further out. There are several I-40 exits west of town. White Bridge Road, Charlotte Pike (twice), Old Hickory (circles town), and 46th Ave. None of those intersections are really great to be honest. Your best options are to either be on West End in town or Bellevue further out or West End at I-440 or to be even further out at Kingston Springs. If you wish to be on the west side. That area is just sort of more geographically tightened by the river and Cheatham country's difficult terrain and I-40 West skirts that leaving options a bit less than in other quadrants.

If you could be a bit more specific about where or why, I would be glad to look more intently.
