Well, that's sortof what I meant... with exempt positions comes the responsibility without compensation at all for the overtime.

I was exempt as a secretary at one position in the past, when I was in the corporate ratrace....

Ok, here's my final comment on this situation...

When I was working full time, before we had a family...the hospital I worked for would participate in health fairs...or sometimes they'd give away free flu shots or something. I would volunteer to do it (it wasn't as expected as it is with Steve, but nonetheless, it looked good). I loved it! Nursing was my passion and I really loved it and enjoyed spending a day off doing it.

Steve LOVES what he does and after school is over, I don't think it will bother me when he volunteers for things. IF they are things he can't get done during business hours (like the Pollution Collection Event and the Creek Cleanup). I can actually see Steve volunteering for this stuff even after he retires! It's his passion!

We just don't see him enough *at this current time* for him to accommodate someone else's schedule.
