So, in short: Old-fashioned, whole foods are good for you.

Okay, I'm convinced of that. Would you 'splain it to the fam'bly?

I can't seem to get the message across that the "let's just pick something up" mentality is killing us. Literally.

I have to confess to being a bit of a hypocrite. I come home tired and not in the mood to cook. Lately my weekends have been full with other activities so I haven't had time to cook. My heart is in the right place but the modern lifestyle is hard to reconcile. We don't eat terribly (usually a cut of meat for dinner, green beans, and a salad... or mexican food) but we don't eat as well as I want.

So the garden is a good step for me. Good veggies that we like that aren't 2-weeks stale and covered with chemicals. We just bought a freezer for the basement that I plan to fill with cuts of meat that are quickly cooked and big jugs of raw milk.

I also scour the internet for interesting foods - but they're expensive. I scour the grocery stores for good foods - but that's hardly one stop shopping.

I dunno. We do our best, take vitamins, and try not to stress. But I want to do so much better.
