It wouldn't hurt for you to go and sign up with temp agencies, increasingly, they are handling technical temp placements. Some can lead to permanent jobs.

Yeah...but I've done that. Haven't had any luck. When the lady from the placement agency called me this morning to let me know that job is non-existant, I asked her if there was ANYTHING else she could put my name in for, and she said she hadn't seen anything in a long time, not for here.

What I'm hearing, as I think I've mentioned, is that there were massive layoffs from some of the bigger tech companies here not too long ago, and the competition is fierce. I'd be OK with switching fields...but there are very few entry level jobs.

But I'll keep looking. Maybe I've missed some agency. I dunno. I did a websearch...maybe I'll go through yellow pages instead.
