Probably only a matter of time but had a squirrel-in-the-house event.Do you know that a squirrel who finds itself inside a house in a squirrel oops-moment, can run so fast it stops being a squirrel running fast and instead turns into a gray blur? I dont think Ive ever seen anything move so fast.
The event began by me going out onto the deck and turning around at the same moment that a squirrel came running up the stairs on the T____ side, and apparently seeing me in his intended path instantly diverted through the open slider. Ooops Once inside he went into panic mode and flew into [Ramius's] room and I zipped over and scooped up Josie and ran her downstairs and closed the door. When I came back up he came back out of [Ramius's] room and in a flash went across the living room and as it turned out but I couldnt tell at the time went back out through the slider. Took me a long time to figure out that yes, he had made back outside.
A curious part of this is Josie had been asleep on a dining room chair, woke up from the squirrel running right past the chair she was sleeping on, and only raised her head and looked at the squirrel with no apparent attempt to move or get up, let alone chase it - even inside the house. Weird cat .
We haven't had any squirrels quite that brave. But we've had some birds look in the window when the feeder is empty. And there's a bird (I think it's a bluejay) that puts up a fuss when I'm out there and the feeder is empty.
