I remember reading that and just loving Tolkien for it. I read it to my mom and it took her a minute to figure it out...then she exclaimed "Oh! Atlantis!"
No no, not Atlantis. That is 3 blocks farther down on your left. Great place, you can't miss it. If you are swallowed by the sea you have gone to far.
