And if you're lucky, you just might get to watch it blow up....again....
I almost clicked Michigan ;~D
You really ought to give Oregon a try ;~D
Pretty ocean beaches... and no sales tax.
Northern Michigan, like the Traverse City area, would be nice.
We also shouldn't forget in our planning that I'm still counting on Entmoot 2008 to be rafting the Grand Canyon for my 50th birthday.
I just ran a tube-sock covered hand in and out of my sneakers that I left on the porch while on vacation!
Well, I was never contrary. Just didn't think of it.
I shoulda done that. I think somethin' bit me last week. It's ~almost~ healed up, but it's looked right ugly...
2008 gives us time to have the 2007 moot somewhere out east...
If we're doing this in the summer, I will die in about half the states you posted. Heat is one thing. Humidity is something else. And have the Carolinas rediscovered the recipe for ice since I was last there?
I didn't click AZ for that reason ;~D
We're saving it :~D
Let's see, what else can we come up with...
There's the Oregon Coast too, a BEAUTIFUL place indeed. And it's not that far inland to see some mountains too.
CA has Rodeo Drive, a bunch of cool museums, the Hearst Castle, beaches, Magic Mountain (roller coasters galore)...
There you go again....
By 2010, I'd better have little feet pitter-pattering around. Not sure that would be a good plan...
On second thought, I guess 2010 is only five years... wow.
Redwoods and wine country!
You shoulda seen Mrsnad's bite...something nibbled on her pretty hard. Had to go to the doc and have it "tended" to...
Thing is, she says she never felt it bite her, which makes me wonder "Brown Recluse?" Their bite is painless or nearly so.
Don't make me turn this thread around. It's the yankees what don't know that tea is supposed to have ice in it.
And sugar. Lots of sugar.
That said, I wouldn't do the south in summer either. Unless we were on a beach.
Then again, the Smokey Mountains. Something Gatlinburg-ish, could be nice.
I think tho, we need to:
1) decide a date range 2) decide what kind of place we want
And go from there. I'd say whatever we pick let's go for off season to get better rates. We're lookin' to spend time together, not to "vacation."
I'm game for the west coast...and I'm sure Steve will be too...he's got a brother lives in San Francisco.
5 years is plenty of time to get pitter-pattering feet.
Actually, 5 minutes is plenty of time....
I think the place and the date is irrevocably tied together.... If winter, south, if summer, north.
I think AK would be LOVELY in the summertime! :)
