I think it's that if I get him going I won't be able to control it.

Is it just me, or doesn't he look like he could really be fast:). And he's not lazy at all like Rusty is. Rusty really has to be prodded to get him going. Harley goes very easy, but he's never been a runaway. He's always stopped immediatly when asked. He doesn't fight it, shake his head, try to keep going etc.

It's me, it's not the horse.

At the clinic I was starting to push for more speed between barrels, and he was fine, and he didn't take off full blast like I was expecting, he just increased when asked, so I don't know why I get nervous. I feel like people in rehad clinics. :). You know you've heard the stories of people who have some physical handicaps going to a rehab. And they're doing great, can do everything, but then when it comes time to be discharged they get scared and don't think they can do it away from the clinic without the support....I was doing it at the clinic, now I'm regressing....

But no more. This week we're working everyday, and next week my times are going back the other way.....:)

There ya go!

Fear's a normal natural part of me... I understand.

Have you had other horses that were runaways?
