He was the only one in town. My ferrier went up 5 dollars because of "gas prices" so I can't afford to send him to the horses:') Seriously, I have another one coming out that is local and highly recommended. He's supposed to be there today. I think I fixed Sarah Lees feet but I want him to check and she needs a trim anyways.

Hi y'all! I'm catching up on the thread here after a nice long weekend off...

Becky... your new place looks wonderful. I'm glad you had a Wal-Mart to help you out with the flat. That's aggravating about the trailer lights but it sounds like everybody did great and that they like their new home just fine.

Squarebarb...Glad you had a good trip and your pics were really nice. Thanks for posting them!

Sharn...I know how you feel about selling Lightening, Misty, Thunder and Adge. It's hard sometimes, but you did a good thing by getting them the best home you could with people who will love them and where they can realize their potential.

Beaker...Glad you had a good trip too and am really looking forward to your pictures of Boston on the 4th. I'll bet it was a blast!

It sounds like everybody had a great 4th, whether at home or out on the town. I had a good weekend too. Didn't do much, but that's nice in itself. I had a good ride on Saturday but forgot the camera again. Sorry 'bout that. I promise to do better next time, honest! Sunday we had a nice relaxing day at my in-law's pool, grilling out and just laying around. It was just too hot to do much of anything else. Yesterday we grilled steaks at my Mom's house for lunch and then went to my Husband's brother's house to watch fireworks with them and their grandkids. A very nice weekend indeed.

Since I don't have any horse pictures to share, I thought I'd share this one of a critter I passed in the road on my way to work this morning....

It was raining and there were several of them out in the road where it passes through a swampy area. They are HUGE! I wish I had put something down beside him to give you some scale. He was at least as long as my hand from the wrist to the tip of my middle finger. He's what we call a "Crawdad", but he's so big you'd think he was a small lobster. I stopped the car to take his picture and when he saw me this is what he did. It's like he's saying "Bring it, Baby! I'll make you sorry you were ever hatched!" LOL! He wouldn't let me sneak around behind him either, he just kept turning and threatening me with his claws. So funny!
