This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Nah, mine what they are gonna be. Just curious.
I used to live in Ft Worth. Couldn't make a living though:') We ought to plan a hill country get together sometime though. Square Barb is near San Antonio and someone else I know here, is near Corpus. We could get a who is interested list and pick a middle ground. I think Texas is about half way from Washington, don't you?:')
Sorry. I forgot about our clown:').
yay! That sounds like fun. If it's close enough I could come!
Isn't there a cowboy church near you?
Umm I remember seeing one...I would have to remember where it is. I THINK it is off of either 105 or 75
I thought I remembered you posting about one before.
I think it would have to be 105 past Montgomery. I remember passing it when I was going on one of my little rides.
yea, I think I did post about seeing one. I don't remember what the conversation was about though.
A plane crashed?
Never mind. I found the thread.
Yea, a little one. Burned a house down. They just missed the Montgomery Airport.
Wow, I need to move to Texas. It seems to be "where it's at"
Do the winter Texas thing and come visit a few months. You might not want to leave.
That should have been Winter Texan.
Yup!!!
I dont know what "it" is, but it's here somewhere
We got our barn designed. It's going to be A frame with 4 stall areas on each side with an alley in the middle. Three of them will be used for a tack room, feed room and an office next to a stall that will open to a double. That will give me 5 stalls. All will be on outside walls with an inner gate and an outer to paddocks.
Oh and the winter hay will be stored in a shed elsewhere.
Sounds great! : )
Yeah. Eddie wants wood though. I prefer metal but we are better at carpentry than welding:') We are going to run the wire thru PVC though. I wasnt my "office" with a window, next to my nursery/sick room so I can comfortably camp out if I need to.
