*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Thanks. He was surprising me today, the way he came in and asked me to come out to the garden to tell him the names of the flowers. I got it started by telling him the names of the few wild flowers I can identify. Then I showed him some snap dragons:), of course any little boy is going to like anything about dragons.

Then I told him about a friend I had as a kid who had a Venus fly trap. I guess I'm going to have to go shopping and find one now:)

I always thought Venus Flytraps were so cool. I could never get one to live very long though. I loved feeding them so I know they weren't starving to death. They always seemed to rot or something. Our Wal-Mart carries them sometimes, along with Pitcher Plants and other bog-type plants.

Well, I was wondering if they would be hard to find. I would never have thought Wal Mart had them.

After I first got here and didn't realise that deaconjims sense of humor matches mine, I wanted to go skinnydip in the lake one night..... he said that loads of swam in it. So there I am swimming by our dock, when I ask him, "are you coming in?" he says, not likely, theres snakes and aligators in there! He WASN"T joking........! : O
Isn't it amazing how quick you can move if need be?

If I can't see in I stay on top of the water. I get a lot of teasing because I will not swim in the lake. I prefer pools with clorine and flood lites. Clothes optional:')

Well you just never know what they're gonna turn up with. Somebody probably got a wild hair up their butt and ordered them on a whim. I haven't seen any lately so they may never have them again. I'll bet you could order one from some nursery off the internet though.

Actually someone probably thought it was a fly repellent and ordered some since those products sell well in the summer:')
