This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
"I'm relaxed, it's just a deep seat, which is better than all my weight on the butt.... that's not comfy for me or the horse"
Well that would explain it. The saddle always matters. It is amazing what the horse feels even in a saddle. I can understand the horse feeling the butt bones bareback, but in a saddle, that is amazing. Mabe I can gt away with it because I weigh 100 pounds.
LOL! It is a good thing that we do not spoil our horses....... : )
One time while on a trail ride everyone was stopped for a lunch break. Frog walked by and says, "what happened to your horse's nose?" I looked and it had a small small skinned place on it because she had fallen asleep and stumbled. : )
Hahaha LOL
Wow I like your smiley!!!
I would start a Belmont Thread if I knew how. Will people come if I dont PING? I have no idea how that works.
The old horse I started out on would moan with pleasure when I groomed her and fall asleep on me. I would have to jab her as she started leaning my way. I really liked her. If she hadn't have got killed I would have tried to buy her just so she wouldn't have had to work anymore.
Hmp! Most likely.
You start it, I will ping the Saddle club. Just don't post in breaking news.....LOL They will jump your bones over that. The thread police, I mean.
Ok, I just posted a Belmont Thread. PLease visit it LOL
Uh oh, I think that was one of the ones I clicked. OOPS
I just asked for forgiveness. Hopefully they will forgive a newbie poster.
Not much has been in breaking news the last few days anyway.
The other two are diesels and much larger tractors. Not sure that I have pictures of these two.
And some people call horses, dumb animals. : )
Do you pick hay with that tractor?
Only used that one for raking hay into windrows for a couple of seasons. Now using a larger tractor with a canopy for shade. This one is used for mowing weeds, brush and as an ATV.
Oh ok, that makes sense. That is interesting.
