Oh, I believe that it is more than that. 19 Democrats voted in 1995 to completely do away with ALL filibusters. Now, many of those who voted that way in 1995 somehow are against doing away with just a filibuster on judicial nominees. Hypocrisy.

Secondly, it seems that Democrats are willing to do/say anything to keep conservative judicial nominees off the Circuit Courts, even if it means engaging in what could be called smear tactics, along with doing an about face...and making hypocrites of themselves in the process.

And I think the Democrats' constituents hold their leaders much less to the fire than do the Republicans'.

Probably, the abortion lobby, etc. feels that the Dems can say or do ANYTHING as long as they keep the status quo in the courts. the Dems need that support, and those dollars, to survive.

So what if no one knows or understands what the Constitution says or how government is supposed to work, they say.
