RNC or Club for Growth?

Posted on 05/24/2005 6:08:15 AM PDT by roses of sharon

No more money to RNC?

The Club for Growth is dedicated to defeating Rino's in their primaries.

The Club for Growth is also dedicated to open borders and flooding our schools and hospitals and highways with ignorant third world immigrants which get subsidized by taxpayers for the benefit of corporate cheap labor.

Stephen Moore, their founder and ex-President, who I think came from and is now again on the Editorial staff of the Wall Street Journal is one of the chief open borders proponents. He also worked as an economist at the Heritage Foundation and almost ruined that organization from a secure borders perspective but they now appear to be starting to make a turnaround back towards their more traditional conservatism. Stephen Moore would destroy this country for the sake of cheap labor.

I would not give the Club for Growth a dime until they renounce their dedication to open borders.

They are a great org who have elected many conservatives, I see nowhere that Mr. Moore is lobbying for open boarders.

Type "Stephen Moore immigration" into Google.

Have fun.

Again, I see nowhere on the Club for Growth web site, that they vet candidates about their immigration policy beliefs, to the contrary there are many articles on the Minutemen, and Tancrano(sp?), that are positive.

All of their efforts, funding, commercials, are concentrating on fiscal conservative, SS reform, tort reform, ect.

Immigration reform is a great debate, and an old debate, in which most Americans agree with you and me on, and disagree with Bush. It is a debate with the Rep party in which all sides have salient points, which is why Rep party is alive with many ideas, and the left is dead, except for their NY media that keeps them on life support.

But that debate has nothing to do with Club for growth running conservative-limited gov candidates against RINO's in the primaries, of which they have gotten quite a few elected. They have a place in the primary fights, a good place.

The RNC has their place, but I stopped giving to them long ago, I give to my local candidates, and to any org that run ads on conservative issues, and educates the public.

Do you remember the Illinois Senate race where Alan Keyes got his a$$ handed to him by Barack Obama? Alan Keyes was in that race because Jack Ryan, the winner of the GOP Primary, dropped out due to a sex scandal where he tried to get his (ex)wife to perform public sex acts with him.

Jack Ryan was the candidate supported by the Club for Growth and the Whitehouse. His opponent in the GOP primary race was Jim Oberweis who is a good conservative. He was specifically opposed by the Whitehouse and the Club for Growth because he came out STRONGLY against illegal immigration. They were so opposed to him that they would not even back him as the candidate after Ryan dropped out even though he had run a fairly close second in the primary. He surely would have done better against Barack Obama than Alan Keyes.

When money gets funneled through the Club for Growth, you are providing the big business open borders lobby with a club that can be held over the heads of conservatives that might otherwise vote to secure our borders.

The Club for Growth often backs good candidates. I think their advice is worth listening too. Just don't funnel money through them. Give it to the candidates directly so they are free to vote like conservatives rather than as the bought and paid for tools of the open borders lobby.

Cks are made out to the candidate and NOT the Club.

I'll have to ck out the reasons they gave for not backing Jim, I was not aware that they made an issue of immigration.

(I think some wanted to test Keyes in a race, how he would hold up, ect.)

From what I hear the RNC is hearing complaints about the Republican org in Illinois.

Anyway, at least we are exploring different options, it is fantastic that the conservative base is making itself heard on immigration and judges.

Personally I would like to see a "Club for the Destruction of the NY/DNC media"!
