Someone here said the Leno interview went very well.
I'm glad you brought that up because I don't think we've quite beaten this accent topic into the ground yet. I have some more questions about it.
Let us review and rehash:
Someone said something about Ferguson's British accent and you responded with, "He's Scottish, dear, not British."
I pointed out that if someone had mentioned someone's American accent, it wouldn't be accurate to say, "He's Texan, dear, not American.
Then you, (or was it Albion?) said that doesn't count because Texas and Scotland can't really be compared.
But why? Why is the relationship of Texas to the US different than the relationship of Scotland to the UK? Both Texas and Scotland were once independent nations. Both countries are subject to laws of the their union, pay taxes to it and elect representatives to it. Both places have their disgruntled separatists who would like to secede from the union. So then why wouldn't it be correct to say, "She's a Texan, not an American"?
I was not insulting Ann when I said she was a loner.
Don't you have anything more interesting to do than spend all this time with me?
I wasn't even talking to you. Why are you so interested in me?
Leno has interviewed her before. They both knew what to expect.
Craig Ferguson has a Scottish accent, DEAR.
Yeah, civility.
It takes two to tango. If you you don't want to discuss, don't post.
Why are you so interested in me?
I'm not interested in you. I'm interested in what you said and what you think.
So are you a Texan, not an American?
i respectfully disagree that ann coulter was out of line. in fact, i thought she was a bit too restrained. we might want to leave it at that.
Fine. Let's leave it alone then.
Ann was aggressive.
You are interested in trying to beat a girl into submission.
I have a Texas accent. Ferguson has a Scottish accent.
Actually, if I were into that sort of thing, I wouldn't do it here. You see, I don't really trust the identities of anyone on the Internet. I have no guarantee that you have a Texas accent, or are even from Texas, or are even a girl.
You could be some guy from San Fransisco putting us all on. That's why I said I'm interested in what people think than who they are.
I'm done so I'll give you the last word Texasflower. Flail away.
There isn't one single word I told you about me that isn't true.
Good point, tame.
craig ferguson has a political "flame thrower" like ann on his show, and then expects her to avoid politics, but talk about any drug use she may or may not have done.
Yes, he said no politics, and then when he was ready to talk politics, HE brought it up. Hypocritical.
And his repeated attempts to associate her with pot-heads were lame and transparently a set up.
but ferguson's attempt at hijacking ann was pathetic.
Yup
And trying to direct her to answer in a way that would make her look bad. She didn't bite.
LOL She went easy on him because he is a newbie...:>)
If you are posting only to me, I will take what you say as directed to me.
Actually, my brain is divided front to back, and I am a front/back brain thinker. I use the whole thing, what the heck it is just sitting there.
I think you are the most interesting person to discuss this with.
I'm the most interesting person to discuss anything with...
The only thread you are going to find where I have ANYTHING at all to say about Ann is this one.
I've never said one thing about her before. Truly.
Not true, but no biggie.
I have young people all the time in my house. Young men and women in their twenties. Since my TV is almost always on Fox, many of them have seen Ann in action.
To a person, they have expressed a negative opinion. That includes my youngest who is the most right wing fanatic I have ever met.
Well they probably went to public schools. And your children I am sure are influenced by your outspoken dislike for Miss Coulter.
If I was one of those young people, I would probably not express an opinion adverse to yours and take the chance of incurring a lecture about the evils of Coulter.
He didn't hold hands with Donny Osmond. :-)
Well, not while the cameras were running. Plus Donny's wife Marie would get upset.
Still, I didn't see that he was trying to get her into an argument. She came out ready for battle though
Of course he was. Good thing she was ready.
But I maintain control without doing the things Ann does.
Nothing personal, but I think she does a MUCH better job at it than you do.
She should come on shows like this and dazzle everyone, not just the diehard Coulter fans.
Fortunately she isn't concerned with dazzling anyone. She is working to break the hold liberals have on the minds of the masses.
She could help us pull in the young people, especially the young women.
Over a million books sold. It's working good.
Ann led the way to most of those converstations. He tried to get her into another subject, but SHE kept it there.
That's not true. Get the tape and look at it. He got flustered at the mouth comment, and then defensive when she started explaining that liberals always accuse her of things like being angry so as to make her defensive. It was a liberal talking point and it didn't work on her.
...she is hostile from the start.
She was never hostile at all in this interview.
Tell me something, does Ann have any friends or a lover?
I heard she is dating a liberal.
She seems lonely and a little bit unsure of herself in relations with other people
Projection?
I collected quotes from your last post to me and onward so I could comment in one post.
I think you should take Dan Evans up on his suggestion of getting a transcript. I think you will be suprized to see what really happened on the show.
