Seven minutes is still pathetic. Anything under 30 minutes (unless the kids are up) is what I would consider quite unsatisfactory.

Many British men have deep voices...you must not like the accent - also, Americans tend to only hear the "Hollywood" English accents, ie; "Posh" (the Queen or Hugh Grant) or Cockney (London)...Northeast English accents are hot..a little rough around the edges, a bit like the Scottish accent.
