The village board approved the budget tonight and half the village showed up to protest an increase.....we were just hanging out for a few minutes after the meeting when I brought up that they were both up on our hill for a bear sighting this morning.

I do have to laugh though - the bear saw my headlights and hightailed it up a tree just a few feet from my car, it's just around the corner from my house....he/she acted scared, but man it was huge compared to that tree. Like a 250 pound man hugging a tree....... Thank God I didn't hit it and wreck my car.

We don't have a lot of bears here, but in the mountains near here there are some. Cougar are sited on the mountainside near town, and occasionally people spot a moose.

We were up in the mountains one day on a flat where we could do some target practice and a moose decided to cross the field. Boy, was it big. I made everybody get in the car, lest he decide he didn't like our looks.

Seen elk around here, too...and some mule deer. Heard coyotes kiyi-ing one day, too. They were up in a canyon I could see from the church I go to (which is pretty much on the edge of things along the Wasatch Front.
