First up, Shepard Smith repeating over and over on a hot summer day, that it was "HOT". That was my first day of Fox news. It really was hot, and I've hated him ever since.
Next, of course, is the blow-hard High School teacher, O'Rielly, who in the real world ought to be a lunch-room/hall monitor, up on charges of sexual harrassment. Anyone who admires O'Rielly is overlooking a lot, let's face it. Have you ever seen him in a discussion group? There's a reason for that. I saw him sit on on Brit Hume's Sunday forum once, and it was painfully embarrassing to everyone. He's never appeared since. Of course you all remember how he lost his cool with Franken on C-span too. The long and short of it is, name and town, name and town. Here is a letter from John Smith from Springfield, "Dear Mr. O'Rielly, I loved your book, No Spin Zone". Well, Mr. Smith, you get a no spin zone coffee mug. *grin*
Then there's radio-face Sean Hannity, who never had an original observation in his life. Hannity's schtick is to associate his poor guests with positions other people have taken. Notice that? He will hector, "do you not denounce Jesse Jackson for saying...bla bla bla".
John Gibson. Did you know he has a book out? John Crosseyed Gibson, with the unlovely smirk, an hour a day. His celebrity is yet another reason O.J. Simpson should have gotten the chair.
I don't believe Fox News is very different from CNN, mind you. It has its garishness going for it, though, in red, white, and blue, and the squawk/ caw of the eagle flying past the flag just before commercial breaks.
Fox News has Fox News Alerts too, every ten minutes. We're all used to that boy-cries-wolf now. "This is a Fox News Alert! Allen Greenspan is testifiying before a congressional committee!". The next time our country has a real emergency, I expect my television to explode, if I'm tuned into fox news.
There are some good people there. I love Steve Doocy, and a couple of the weekend crew. It's a good idea to hire comedians if you want a good morning show. Why not? That should be obvious to TV executives.
Do you hate the Fox News Channel, with its garish colors and its horrible narrator/announcer? That man with the deep voice with such inapporopriate enthusiasm about, say, a child kidnapping? "Coming up next! A mother drowns her children, and a shaken town wonders why! On Fox news!"
Sure, there's room for improvement but they are entertaining.
Fox News is bad but it is one of the major components of the iformation revolution. Between Fox News and Free Republic life is wonderful and informed.
Did you happen to catch the beating Michael Crook took at the hands of both Hannity and Colmes? (yes even Colmes seemed disgusted.)
As bad as Fox is at times it is still 20 times better than watching brian dead liberals tell you how bad the country is and the guilt trip they try to lay on you.
I like FoxNews. I trust them as much as I can trust any media. They all have their 'schticks'...poor Greta, stuck with the sensational case of the day....
I find the only thing I watch on Fox anymore is Brit Hume's show and the Beltway Boys on the weekend.
I don't really care about the next big celebrity trial.
The reason I love Fox...they put out a different take on the homogenized left-media slant and the MSM can no longer get away with their brain-washing.
They continue to do good. They will do great good in Canada. (Are they there yet?)
The gawd awful stench of bias and lying given off by the network "news" and CNN overpowers any whiffs of bad odors emitting from Fox News.
Ah the joys of not watching TV...I don't have to deal with this...
It is really obvious on the weekends.
For example, how could anyone interview Senator McLame for 15 minutes and not ask one question about illeagal immigration and the porous AZ border? WTF?
I saw this ...
The reason I like Fox is because they annoy CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS and all the other liberal media.
How did this DU thread get on this site?
You are getting sleeeeepy. Sleeeeeeeeeepy.
Yeah I wouldn't mind taking him hunting with me.
That's what I am trying to discern.
Why this is this person being humored?
I'd sacrifice small mammals to Laurie Dhue's lips...
