I caught CMT's 20 Sexiest Women of County Music over the weekend. My radar for shows like that is almost fail-safe. There was some excellent photography and video in that show. Actually, that's a lie. I don't know if there was or not; I was too focused on the ladies. I was just trying to sound PC.
I've made my own top 10 list of country babes, driven my OCD for lists and dirty old man syndrome (as usual).
I don't have a lot of disagreement with their list but I do have some. I'll withhold most of my usual salacious comments. Here's my top 10 list:
10. Jennifer Hansen--newcomer but moving up fast
9. Julie Roberts--another newcomer and a rare blonde on my list
8. Martina McBride--the eyes have it, no question about it
7. Shania Twain--CMT's number one and certainly deserving
6. Sheryl Crow--she's good enough for Lance and that's good enough for me
5. Lari White--a short appearance at the end of Castaway with Tom Hanks grabbed my attention. She's got that girl next door look.
4. Chely Wright--she's got a lot of different looks and everyone of them sexy and beautiful
3. Deana Carter--one of the few blondes on the list and I love her bare feet among other things
2. Sara Evans--stunning dark haired, dark eyed beauty with a little bit of country look, she's h-o-t!
1. Faith Hill--still numero uno even after marriage and children. Oh dear god, I would have liked to have been those satin sheets in Breathe for just 1 minute.
UPDATE: I left out Amy Grant. She gets an honorable mention. I've lusted loved her for years.
I think Martina's problem is alot of the songs she picks tend to sound the same. But when I hear her belt out God Fearing Women or Independence Day, I'm impressed.
Some of the softer music is mundane songwriting. Though I heard her sing "Crazy" at some awards show last year. Better than Patsy, IMO.
I agree about Reba. She's one chick who I definitely like better with big hair than when she wore it short.
"Grace Slick (another nut, but she was pretty)"
You obviously have not seen a recent photo, LOL
Anyway, the next up-and-coming Country Music Idol.

Carrie Underwood
I have nothing against blondes, except my body ;o)
Carrie is a cutie.
I guess sometimes I want to hear a voice that gives me chills or sounds so beautiful I stop what I'm doing.
Sometimes I just want lyrics that make me cry or laugh.
Sometimes I enjoy a good performer who really puts everything they have into a song (no matter what the song is).
Sometimes I just wanna kick somethin', so right now, my theme song is "My Givadamn's Busted!".
Alison Krause...
That's not hot, that's make-up.
IMHO
No way Jose! Top three are Sara, Martina, and Alison. I'll let you argue about #4 and up. ;o)
You are correct! Yes she is!
"That's not hot, that's make-up."
She's the girl next door.
LOL!
Here's what's on my CD player lately

I'm highly impressed
Kelly Willis
Tift Merritt
Alison Moorer
Neko Case
and the grande dame, Emmylou Harris - easily the hottest senior citizen in country music.
"...But Martina can belt it out...."
You said it. Saw her at FanFair in Nashville 2 years ago at tha Coliseum. Sara Evans was there on the same bill. Sara was great, but Martina owned the house that night. Man, she can sing. One thing about her is a staggering irony, for someone that looks so dam*%d good, she sings a lot of songs dealing with some of the ugliest facets of human life. She even looks good pregnant, and I mean that as a compliment.
Another candidate not on the list would be Lee Ann Womack. She and Martina has some of the most beautiful eyes in country music. And Lee Ann can sing reasonably well herself.
Straight long hippy hair is a BIG turnoff for me!
