Just Luca's inaccuracy of attributing the Vietnam War policies to Nixon, when it was JFK and LBJ's war gets him another pass from me. Plus this guys family has been some of the biggest land holders in Marin County (Lucas Valley -right off 101) just about forever. Old time landed gentry trying to be a man of the people. Yeah right!

I believe he also got SF Presidio Trust to "give" him the old Letterman Hospital site at the Presidio for his movie studio developement so you people can keep on seeing his fairy tales and his profit margin will be even bigger, being it's done on taxpayer supplied land.

Yep, Michael Savage talked about the Presidio when he was talking about the other base closings this week.

More land will be bought at a future date which will "conveniently" be owned by someone connected.

To: No more Star Wars please

The Jedi didn't care for saving Anakin's enslaved mother.

Perhaps they are like the UN. Corruption leads to their downfall. Too many evil agents in their midst.

If you must see Star Wars, go to a theater that lets you pay for one movie and see another, then buy the ticket for Kingdom of Heaven (by Ridley Scott, who gave us the great film Black Hawk Down), and boycott this imbecile libtard Lucas. Iraq could also be compared to Korea, where we tried to stop a civil war and keep alive the people of South Korea who valued freedom and prevent the whole country from ending up like the toilet that is ruled by the crazy gnome in North Korea. How about that comparison? Not to mention, again, that Iraq attacked Kuwait first. And threatened Saudi Arabia by amassing troops on the Saudi Border after invading Kuwait and killing thousands of completely innocent Kuwaitis. Why is Lucas defending Saddam? How is Bush Palpatine or Vader and what does that make Saddam and the corrupt people in France and the UN who illegally supported him through the bogus oil for food program which killed 50,000 Iraqis every year for over 10 years, enriching Saddam while devestating the people of Iraq, some of whom were finally able to vote and said that sticking their finger in that vial of purple ink make them feel like they were poking a terrorist in the eye. We brought democracy to Iraq and these idiots think that Bush is a threat to it, and I guess my votes for Bush (twice) don't count as democracy huh? I want to know what the hell is wrong with these hollitards when they do make such great product without so much as a lick spit of common sense. Is it the drugs? The orgies? What the hell is corrupting and perverting their minds? Perhaps it's true that the same sources inspiring their creativity also simultaneously kill any sense of morality they might once have had, especially when it comes to pychodellic drugs and rampant sex.

Don't pay for Star Wars. Get the best of both worlds. Why punish youself by depriving yourself when the object is to punish these traitor libtard backstabbing troop hating bastards? See the movie if you must (I must because I do like the series) but pay for one by a morally responsible person. I always do this. I'll pay for a Mel Gibson movie and go see any other depraved Hollywood idiot's film instead, after I've already seen the Gibson one. In this case, Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven will do, and it was an awesome movie too, maybe just because I like playing Crusader much more than playing Star Wars, but I thought it was a great movie. It will be my pleasure to put more money in Ridley Scott's account so he can make more movies like it and Black Hawk Down and simultaneously in effect dip my hands into the bank account of Lucas and take money out of it so he has less to donate to the Clinton Defense Fund the next time around (like Tom Hanks did with $100,000 - a penny of which might actually have come from my money I spent to see his movies when I thought he had some common sense). Everytime I use my fingers to buy a ticket for a movie and then go see another one by a commie libtard jackass, I feel just like I'm poking another terror-lover right in the eye. I'm having my cake and eating it too. Delicious.

I caught the noon showing. It was definitely worth the $14 we paid to get in. I advise buying your tickets on Fandango, as most theaters have a separate, faster line, for prepaid tickets.

Thank you for the quote. Yep, when Anachan Skywalker avenged his mother's death, it was supposed to be BAD, BAD. Oh how evile it was, to do his home planet a small favor like that. How evile to let the tuskans know that it could be dangerous to mess with other races.

It should have been a fun moment, watching him slice and dice those creepo tuskans. I felt gyped. I didn't want to dis Lucas, though. But now, I could care less.

I'm sick of those Xena-jumps. I don't care how strong the force is. It's Luney-Tunes to see them jumping 50 feet in the air. And when Yoda fought Duku, I laughed my head off. Lucas has been going to the dogs, anyway. If we want to watch 70 foot jumps, we can watch cheap karate films or Peter Pan.

And Miss Brilliance, wanting to block a standing army for the Republic? How stupid can you get? Obviously, someone would secretly form an army somewhere. The Republic was just begging for a Civil War.

I think Lucas should have made it more clear that Padme flunked in Galactic History to have such a stupid notion in her nut-sized brain. The history of her own planet, the war SHE LED should have shown her the vital importance of a strong standing army.

And it was stupid to write back in time to begin with. Gee, where's this plot going? Will they have two children-- one boy and one girl? Will it be twins? Will Anachan be turned to the dark side? Will the Republic fall? Will the jedi be crushed? Will an empire rise up? Will Yoda end up hiding in some slimy mudhole? Will Obe Wan survive all his adventures and end up hiding in a desert? Gee, I don't know. If you want to wipe out half the mystery before the movie even begins, do what Lucas did.

Revenge of the Sith can just as easily be taken as a classic warning to leftists: seize power in the name of doing good and you will become a tyrant, no matter how noble your intentions. Lucas might not have intended it, but the warnings in the film seem to apply more to the Left than the Right.

I was going to go see it eventually, after it had been out a while and getting tickets wasn't going to be that hard.

But after George Lucas said this about Bush, he can take his film and shove it up his a$#$

've been thinking about what really irritates me the most about this.

I've loved Star Wars since I first saw it at a drive-in when I was 5 years old. I used to play with a lot of the toys. I just recently bought my own kids a very cool Falcon that came with a bunch of the figures for a good price at Sam's Club. I’ve read many of the Star Wars books and even some of the comics. So I feel like I am a long time customer and I don't think it would be asking too much to be somewhat appreciated. But instead of appreciation, I get insults. And not righteous insults with some validity, but ridiculous insults which have no logical thought behind them.

You know what makes me most mad is how much emotional capital I've already invested into Star Wars and then to find out after all this time that George Lucas only insults me by thinking I'm stupid enough to vote for someone who would be a tyrant. Is Lucas really that dumb, or is he just pretending to be so stupid in order to purposefully annoy me? Conservatives like me who defend our 2nd Amendment rights are the strongest line of defense against the rise of a tyrant in America, and it's the gun grabbing libtards like Lucas who would surely lose us our liberty.

The bitter irony is that Lucas is comparing Republicans to the idiots who are applauding their new emperor, when the reality is that liberals who oppose the 2nd Amendment and who go on and on about it applying only to organized militias are the ones who would get us a hard left commie dictatorship installed, and it's the 2nd amendment defending conservatives who ensure America isn't taken over from within. I wouldn't mind at all Lucas giving his opinion, I just wish he had at least a lick spit of common sense behind it, and just giving his trite little teasers in this interview isn't cutting it. Let's see his essay on the subject, and then I'll put it up against Orson Scott Card's and David Brin's, among others.

Hey, it's not my fault that Lucas decided to stab me in the back and effectively call me and every other Bush voter a jack booted fascist imperialist freedom hating nazi wannabe moron for voting for Bush. That's his opinion, I just wish he had made more clear his thoughts on this subject before he suckered me into paying in good faith for all of his stuff over all of these long years. He waits until I'm practically his lover and then pulls out the ice pick to let me have it after he’s gotten my confidence. What a deceitful, conniving little traitor. Maybe I should blame myself somewhat for being so naïve. I guess I’ll eventually learn. The hard way.

Some interesting thoughts are available by a better writer than Lucas will ever be at ornery.com, especially regarding our war in Iraq. Maybe I should email this link to George Lucas.

I agree with you to a point. I know what Lucas is saying and I completely disagree with his simplistic views. I also agree with you that it is a backhanded slap in the face to imply that Republicans are all jackbooted fascists. It sounds as though he learned his politics from some hippie, ninth grade school teacher.

And eventhough I'm a die-hard fan of the original trilogy, I think he is absolutely horrible with dialogue. I've read high school productions with better dialogue than the prequels. Most of his scenes are short and stilted that lacks in dramatic flare. His actors sound as though they're reading right off the script in rehearsal due to his weak directing style. So, I'm not some fan with blinders. I guess it is nostalgia for the masterpiece I saw as a youth.

Where I disagree is the idea of boycotting Star Wars, a sci-fi fantasy, because of political philosophy. Besides making some of my political brethren look like crusty frumps who take themselves too seriously, I can't see how my seven bucks will make any difference to the gozillion his movies have made. I respect you for your decision -- and trust me I know where you're coming from, but I don't think the majority of the apolitical public will come out of the theater saying "Damn, I'm not voting Republican because they're the Dark Side of the Force."

The series can be taken a lot of ways, but it isn't really about politics. It's a classical tragedy about one man being toyed with by the fates.
