I'm told that if somebody suggests a "biopsy" of a suspected melanoma, you should demand that they excise it fully. If they don't, and they just biopsy it, leaving some cells behind--- the melanoma goes bananas, and spreads wildly throughout the entire body. Pretty scary.

Yes sir, and they should also do a wider circumference when excising it since the cancer cells could be in the good tissue not seen by the magnifier.
