I have to think that Karma came back and bit Romber on the booty, and U&J picked up what they lost. I thought U&J played the game with a lot of character and deserved to win. I would bet just about anything that Romber would have blown off the cabbie and run right in to claim their prize instead of trying to get the money to pay him.
Agree about the Karma. Since I never watched Survivor (TAR is the only reality show I watch), I didn't have an opinion on Romber before this show - well I didn't want them to win, but loved watching them race. But the minute they drove by the brothers after they'd flipped their SUV, sealed their fate with me. I was hoping it would come back to bite them big time and it did.
I especially loved when they tried to make the others think there was an earlier flight, and there actually was one. Love to see those plots backfire.
U&J were good racers, they seemed to be good people, respecting each other and the other players. It was a nice change after Freddy and Kendra last season.
I thought U&J were just being nice to the cabbie too, but my husband pointed out that it must be a rule of the game that you are not allowed to stiff people or steal things to win. In some cases, the cabbies have said it's OK if you don't have enough, but in this case he made a fuss. That is why U&J begged for the money, otherwise they would have been disqualified. Otherwise they would have just ran to the finish line and promised the guy to write him a check for three times the amount after they won.
I thought U&J getting on the plane was suspicious. I would not be surprised if the producers were involved, but was it really better for them for U&J to win? It seems like they would get even more publicity if Romber won. U&J will just be a publicity blip, Romber would be a storm.
