"A shipping container filled with them is probably something like 12,000 pounds of peas. That's like a 100x + markup."
Inexpensive bulk products cost more to transport and retail then to grow. Most of the cost of peas, or soybeans, or sand is distribution not materials.

Or was he resting in peas?
